How do I find good value wedding suppliers? How do I save money?
Never pay full price for a single part of your wedding… or at least, not unless you want to! Discounts, offers and deals on wedding suppliers are everywhere and it’s overwhelming to know where to start, when you have decided that you want to save money on your wedding. And also, what actually is a good deal? And what is truly helping you have a cheaper wedding?
Regardless of your budget for the big day – hundreds or thousands – you can make sure you’re saving money by following these tips.
If you start to include Facebook groups, there are too many websites out there, claiming to be *the* place for all your suppliers. Whichever site/s you choose to use, make sure you take advantage of the offers and discounts that you’ll find with the suppliers listed.
So many suppliers offer discounts if you book with them at a wedding fair. It makes it totally worth checking out your local fairs. Do your research on the exhibitors before you’ve even booked your tickets to see if they are within your budget, offer the right type of service and then you can talk to them in person on the day!
Don’t be afraid to ask a Supplier if they are going to any wedding fairs as well. It’s an excellent opportunity for them to meet you face to face and suss out your expectations.
Please make sure that if you pay for a national fair ticket, that the cost of the ticket is not more than the discount! Unless you know you’d like to go and soak up being engaged anyway…
Save when shopping online
Make sure you are using cashback websites, gift cards and other ways to save a few pennies on full price items. You’ll be shopping more and likely spending more than you would be ordinarily, so make it stretch that little bit further!
If you are really interested in booking with them, but not ready to take the plunge yet, turn on notifications and you’ll get a notification every time they post. Yes, it may be annoying to see 20 pictures of “Rachel and Dave’s wedding” but totally worth it if you don’t miss the supplier’s 48 hour flash offer…
Last minute offers
If you are planning your wedding with less than a year to go, you may be able to take advantage of many suppliers offering “last minute” offers. If you ever go to a wedding fair, you may be unhelpfully told how far in advance other couples book. You do your wedding, how you do your wedding!
With 6 or 7 months before your big day, if you are flexible, you can get some brilliant deals on venues offering free evening buffets and entertainment, or large discounts off the total cost. This isn’t the approach for everyone, but fortune favours the brave!
What other ways have you found to save money on your wedding and on your chosen suppliers?
